Privacy
Last updated 17 July 2026. This policy explains the cookies and browser storage VereLocal uses, what they do and how you can control optional analytics.
VereLocal uses strictly necessary technology for secure login sessions, protected beta access, abuse prevention, your cookie preference and features you specifically request, such as carrying calculator answers into a quote form. This includes the Payload authentication cookie, verelocal_beta_access on protected beta hosts, verelocal_cookie_consent, the beta-notice preference and temporary calculator quote context. Cloudflare may set security cookies such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance when its protection is activated. These remain available when analytics is rejected because the site or requested feature cannot operate securely without them.
If you accept analytics, VereLocal uses PostHog EU to understand public-page journeys and product usage. PostHog requests are sent through VereLocal at /ingest and may use ph_ browser storage. Session recordings are privacy-masked and limited to approved public routes. Forms, dashboards, conversations, quote details, verification documents and other private areas are excluded. Accessible PostHog storage is removed when you withdraw consent.
Google Analytics 4 may be enabled for aggregate public-page measurement. It is not currently loaded unless VereLocal has configured a measurement ID and you have accepted analytics. It may set _ga and _ga_ cookies for up to two years under Google default settings. Advertising storage, ad personalisation and advertising user-data signals remain denied.
Analytics is off until you choose it. Rejecting non-essential technology does not block search, signup, login, quote requests or account features. Your choice is stored for 180 days with the current policy version. Use Cookie settings in the footer at any time to accept, reject or withdraw analytics. Withdrawal stops future browser analytics and removes accessible PostHog and Google Analytics storage without signing you out.
VereLocal does not currently use marketing or advertising trackers, social-media widgets, map embeds or third-party video players. Closed-beta Google Forms are outbound links rather than embedded forms, so they do not load until you choose to visit Google. A new provider or material change to purpose will require an updated policy and a fresh consent decision.
The account session lasts for the configured authentication period, currently around two hours. Beta access lasts seven days by default. The cookie choice lasts 180 days. Calculator quote context lasts only for the browser-tab session. Cloudflare security cookies normally last around 30 minutes unless security configuration changes. PostHog browser persistence may last for up to one year by default and Google Analytics cookies up to two years, but both are optional and VereLocal clears accessible analytics storage on withdrawal.
